K-State Turf Field Days are a great way to see and learn about the turfgrass research at K-State first hand. The events are held annually in the summer at our turfgrass research locations.
Thank-you very much for attending the Annual KSU Field Day at the Rocky Ford Research Center in Manhattan, KS. It was held on Thursday, August 7, 2008 and was sponsored by the K-State Research & Extension Horticulture and the Kansas Turfgrass Foundation! Field Day was a huge success with over 200 attendees and numerous supporters of the industry. Research was presented on the Drought Resistance of Kentucky Bluegrass as well as the Nitrogen Source Effects on Tall Fescue and Bermuda grasses. Facts on Tall Fescue cultivars were also shown as to whether or not the grass spreads laterally. Many updates were also given on the Zoysia Cultivars, Turf and Tree Diseases, and Insect and Weed Control on Turf.
Many questions were asked and more were answered at Field Day and we hope you can make it next year at the John C. Pair Horticulture Center in Wichita, KS on August 6, 2009.
